Norwegian Air Traffic Control Services Company AVINOR Awards Contract for New Aeronautical Charting System to CGX AERO.

Castres, France - A consortium led by CGX AERO, ESRI Advanced business partner and including ENAC (Ecole Nationale de l'Aviation Civile, the French Civil Aviation Academy, www.enac.fr) and Geodata (ESRI distributor in Norway, www.geodata.no) has been awarded an international tender launched by AVINOR AS for its PANDA Charting system: Procedures for Air Navigation, Design and Aeronautical Charting system.

Avinor is a state-owned limited company that is responsible for operating the Norwegian airport network. The company owns and operates 46 airports throughout the country, 12 in cooperation with the Armed Forces. Avinor operations also include air traffic control towers, control centres and technical infrastructure for aircraft navigation.

PANDA will be Avinor's primary system for:

designing flight procedures (PANS-OPS)
creating aeronautical charts
conducting geospatial analyses, calculations, and transformations related to air navigation services.

The solution brought by CGX AERO includes:

GéoTITAN^®, ENAC's ICAO compliant expert software in Procedure Design, and very evolutive solution for PANS-OPS,
AIP-GIS Charting^®, expert suite implementing ESRI's ArcGIS Desktop and Production Line Tool Set (PLTS) for ArcGIS - Aeronautical Solution 9.2. This solution is not just about charting, but it also provides a database centric approach to manage aeronautical information including AIXM support, compliantly with Avinor standards and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Annex 4 standards. This Aeronautical Suite will be used for chart generation, chart updates, and workflow management throughout the enterprise.
Charts migration within the new system
Ai-Sky Data^® framework as data gateway (ARINC, AIXM, etc.)
Ai-Sky 3D^® with ESRI's ArcGIS 3D Analyst and Spatial Analyst extensions
ESRI server framework with Arc GIS Server Enterprise standard with JTX its job tracking extension for operational workflow management
Installation, Configuration, Training, and Maintenance services for all the PANDA Charting system.

This Procedure Design and Aeronautical Suite has been chosen by AVINOR, based on its ability to study local operational situations and provide services fully based on AVINOR's ORBIT Aeronautical Database.
